Ashrei Prayer Circles
An Ashrei Prayer Circle, at its core, is a reclamation project tugging at the roots of Judaism by (re)building our personal relationships with g!d and weaving the fabric of our communities even tighter. In practice, the Prayer Circle is an intimate space where we share the prayers of our hearts and powerfully witness each other.

What Happens?
In each Circle gathering we begin by arriving energetically and checking in, and an orienting thought on prayer is shared. Then there is a ritual space for each person’s spontaneous prayers to be shared and affirmed by the group. After the prayer space is closed, there is room to share reflections.
What is the Time Commitment?
We will be together for 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of the group in order to create the space for each person’s prayer.
The first and last gatherings will take the full hour as a way to build relationships and orient to the process to start and build ins space to reflect and close mindfully.
What does it Cost?
The suggested amount is 9-18 dollars per session. 10% of what is received will be redistributed as a tithe. At this time I am supporting Southern Fried Queer Pride (SFQP) in their efforts to fund a Black Queer Owned Community Space!
No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Capitalism is oppressive to us all and I believe that there should never be a barrier to prayer spaces. If there is another way you want to be in reciprocal relationship please be in touch.
The Origin Story
Never in a Jewish prayer space have I prayed from my heart aloud and had it heard by others as I had growing up.
Teacher Acknowledgement
Capitalism and White Supremacy lead us to believe that we can accomplish things on our own. The truth is that every project that every was made came through because of the support, championing, and guidance of others. Here are some of those who supported me in bringing this offering to the world:
Jennileen Joseph - my teacher
Rosa Blumenfeld - my teacher
Rose Rodriguez - my grandmother and spiritual partner
